1. Select the process to analyze in the Diagram Frame
2. Click the “Analyze Process” button .
3. “Analysis Summary” dialog is displayed for the Critical Path.

To get the Analysis Summary for a specific path just select all the activities in that path on the process map and click on “Analyze Process” button. In order to have an end-to-end analysis of the value stream or part of it: select “Flatmap” view on a top level process and expand to see all levels.Then, manually select any branch, set of activities or the entire map to analyze the full value stream.

The details of the calculations for each Metric appearing in “Analysis Summary” are as follow:

• Total Avg. Lead Time: is the sum of “Total time” for all the activities on the critical path, where:

“Total time” for one activity is calculated using the: (Average Actual Time + Average Waiting Time + Average Inventory Time + Average Transport Time + Average Change Over Time) multiply by Average # of Repeats. This formula is the same for all Time metrics.

• Total Avg. Value Added Time: is the sum of “Total time” for all the activities on the critical path marked as value added
• Total Avg. Non-Value Added Time: is the sum of “Total time” for all the activities on the critical path marked as non-value added
• Total Avg. Change Over Time: is the sum of “Total change over time” for all the activities on the critical path

“Total change over time” for one activity is calculated using the formula: Average Change Over Time multiply by Average # of Repeats.

• Total Avg. Queue Time: is the sum of “Total queue times” for all the activities on the critical path, where:

“Total queue time” for one activity is calculated using the formula: (Average Waiting Time + Average Inventory Time + Average Transport Time) multiply by Average # of Repeats.

• Process Cycle Efficiency: is calculated as follow: ( Total Avg. Value Added Time/Total Avg. Lead Time ) * 100
• Total Avg. Cost: is the sum of “Total cost” for all the activities on the critical path, where:

“Total cost” for one activity is calculated using the formula: Average Actual Cost multiply by Average # of Repeats. This formula is the same for all Cost metrics.

• Total Avg. Value Added Cost: is the sum of “Total cost” for all the activities on the critical path marked as value added
• Total Avg. Non-Value Added Cost: is the sum of “Total cost” for all the activities on the critical path marked as non-value added
• Process Cost Efficiency: is calculated as follow: ( Total Avg. Value Added Cost/Total Avg. Cost) * 100 4. Click on “Download Full Report” to open and save the excel version of the report. The excel report contains a Summary worksheet with the same Time and Cost metrics as the “Analysis Summary” for the following paths: Selected Path, Critical Path, High Risk Path.The Excel report also provides a detailed worksheet for each path. 5. The summary worksheet automatically generates the graphs for each path based on the data the user provided on the Analysis tab.  6. The detailed worksheet for each path contains all the activities in that path with details such as Sequence Number, Activity Name, Average Time, Average Cost, etc. It also contains Average Time and Average Cost graphs for that specific path. All the activities will be ordered by sequence number. Activities which do not have sequence number will be ordered alphabetically. Need more help with this?
