There are multiple kinds of gateways that can be used to represent split or merged flows of work in your process map. The gateway type can be changed using the Type drop-down in the General tab.

XOR Gateways can be further defined in the Advanced tab by using the XOR type drop-down.

The type you select in the Type drop-down will be reflected in the Gateway, displayed in the Diagram Frame.

  1. To create a Gateway, select the gateway from the BPMN toolbar.
  2. Drag the gateway onto the Diagram Frame.
  3. To change the size of the gateway, select a gray square and drag the mouse until the gateway is the appropriate size.
  4. To delete the gateway, right-click and select Delete.
  5. When all the necessary changes have been made, check the process back in.

Gateway events can be defined by the following tabs: General, Advanced, Material, Properties, Documents, Procedure, Controls and Risks.
