There are multiple kinds of intermediate events that can be used to represent trigger actions in your Process Map. The Intermediate event type can be changed using the Type drop-down in the General tab.
 

  1. To create an Intermediate Event, select the intermediate event from the BPMN Toolbar.
  2. Drag the intermediate event onto the Diagram Frame.
  3. To delete the intermediate event, right-click and select Delete.
  4. When all the necessary changes have been made, check the process back in.

Intermediate Events can be defined by the following tabs: General, IPL, Advanced, Properties, Material, Documents, Controls and Risks.

The type you select in the Type drop-down will be reflected in the Intermediate event, displayed in the Diagram Frame.

Interrupting vs. Non-Interrupting (BPMN 2.0)

Users can certain start and intermediate as Interrupting or Non-Interrupting. These two different types are identified as follows:

Catch/Throw (BPMN 2.0)

The Catch and Throw principal has been to the EPC Modeler and can be used to define Intermediate and End Events


 
Available for the following intermediate types:

  • Message
  • Signal
  • Multiple
  • Escalation

Upon selecting one of the above Types, users will be able to select “Catch/Throw” in the following panel.
