Process shortcuts are similar to process references. Like process references, a shortcut is used to refer to a sub-process that is repeated in many other processes. Unlike process references, a shortcut cannot be modified without modifying the original process.
Shortcuts can be effectively used to create alternate process hierarchies, showing the same processes in a different classification / categorization. References are more useful when re-using a given process in a different context which mandates different performers/documents/risks/etc.
Shortcuts are also particular as they contain an IPL (Inter process links) tab.
Entry and exit point can be added for any shortcut, as long as they are located within it, ensuring the proper flow of information from one end of the process to the other.
