There are multiple kinds of start events that can be used to represent trigger actions in your Process Map. The start event type can be changed using the Type drop-down in the General tab.
 

  1. To create a Start Event, select the start event shape from the BPMN Toolbar.
  2. Drag the start event onto the Diagram Frame.
  3. To delete the start event, right-click and select Delete.
  4. When all the necessary changes have been made, check the process back in.

Start events can be defined by the following tabs: General, Procedure. IPL, Advanced, Properties, Materials, Documents, Controls and Risks.

The type you select in the Type drop-down will be reflected in the start event, displayed in the Diagram Frame.

Interrupting vs. Non-Interrupting (BPMN 2.0)

Users can identify certain start and intermediate as Interrupting or Non Interrupting. These two different types are identified as follows:
