EPC objects may be exported to an Excel spreadsheet file for reporting, cataloging, and backup uses. Users may wish to edit the spreadsheet file and then re-import it instead of creating or updating data in the EPC Modeler.

To facilitate ease of use and organization, each EPC object is separated by sheet. Each of these sheets is composed of three sections:

  1. Object details
  2. RASCI-VS associations (if the “Include associations” check box was selected during export)
  3. CRUD associations (if the “Include associations” check box was selected during export)
  4. Associated objects (if the “Include associations” check box was selected during export)

Object details

The object details offer descriptions for each exported object. The number of columns is dependent on the object details specific to an EPC object. However, each object has a minimum of 5 set columns. These are:

  • Identifier: An identifier that is unique to each object.
  • Name: The name of the object. This information is found in the General tab of the object’s Details frame.
  • Type: The type of the object. This information is found in the General tab of the object’s Details frame.
  • Category: The category of the object. This information is found in the General tab of the object’s Details frame.
  • Description: The description of the object. This information is found in the Description tab of the object’s Details frame.

RASCI-VS associations

The four RASCI-VS associations are:

  • Roles
  • Assets
  • Organizations
  • Resources

The RASCI-VS association format is Name (R,A,Su,C,I,V,Si) [Identifier] where:

  • Name: Name of the role, asset, organization, or resource that is associated.
  • R,A,Su,C,I,V,Si: The roles which form the responsibility assignment matrix. Multiple assignment is denoted by a comma.
  • Identifier: Identifier of the associated role, asset, organization, or resource.

CRUD associations

The four CRUD associations are:

  • Roles
  • Resources
  • Entities
  • Attributes

The CRUD association format is Name (C,R,U,D) [Identifier] where:

  • Name: Name of the role, resource, entity or attribute that is associated.
  • C,R,U,D: The access rights which form the security matrix and major user interface functions. Multiple assignment is denoted by a comma.
  • Identifier: Identifier of the associated role, resource, entity or attribute

Associated objects

The associations to an object are listed within the cells of the associated object columns. The number of columns for each sheet is dependent upon the type of possible object-object associations in EPC.

The associated object format is Name [Identifier] where:

  • Name: Name of the object that is associated.
  • Identifier: Identifier of the associated object.
